SDO Operations - SDO Resilience
Essex County Fire & Rescue Service is committed to deliver continuous inprovements in pursuit of our strategy to be an excellent Fire & Rescue Service and seeks to appoint 2 Senior Divisional Officers (Area Manager B) within our Operations and Resilience Directorate.
The posts require the successful candidate to be able to have demonstrated effective strategic leadership potential and delivery against objectives in pursuit of Service strategy in their existing roles. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate the range of operational and managerial competencies, to operate as a Strategic Manager in both the operational and corporate arenas.
In addition, successful applicants will be required to demonstrate that they are innovative managers that are able to demonstrate intellectual rigour balanced with effective judgement. Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent communicative and motivational skills, and the potential to make a positive impact in the development of their area of responsibility.
Qualifying applicants should currently hold either the position of substantive Group Manager B (competent) or substantive Area Manager A/B (competent) and be able to demonstrate both operational competency and experience, in addition to evidencing a solid track record in leading and managing effectively across a broad range of references.
Potential applicants wishing to apply should in the first instance complete the services application form and complete a Personal Qualities and Attributes submission. Further details on the assessment process will be promulgated to those applcants progressing beyond the first stage sift.
